Battle of Endor is the piece that opened the door.
It's the first time Sean built a Random Brass piece around a pop culture reference — the first time he took something from outside himself and ran it through his medium. Everything in his catalog that pulls from a recognizable world started here. Darth came after. The fishing rods, the motorcycles, the films and the figures that have followed all trace back to this one.
The piece is built around the crossed lightsabers at its center. Both tubes light up: one red, one blue, the spiral filaments visible through the glass. When it's on, the piece reads exactly as advertised — a confrontation, a standoff, the moment before something happens.
The name came from Sean's most dedicated Star Wars fan friend. When he asked what this piece should be called, the answer was immediate. The figures aren't specific characters. They don't need to be. The energy of the piece does the work.
The base is hand-carved reclaimed wood from Natural Kinships in Bend, cut in half by Sean himself to fit the composition. All antique lamp parts, natural finishes throughout. No welding, no bending, no solder. Both tubes fully functional.
The reclaimed wood base of this piece was sourced from Natural Kinships, a small family-owned mill in Bend, Oregon. The family — a father and two sons — fell trees themselves, mill them at their own shop, and turn them into countertops, tabletops, and live-edge slabs. Sean has worked with them for years; over time, they began setting aside cuts specifically suited to his work. Every Natural Kinships base carries a piece of that story.
